Throughout the course, students will gain insight into Shakespeare’s life, his works, and the cultural context in which he wrote, while also analyzing the intricate language and themes of his plays. They’ll work on breaking down complex texts, discovering the meaning behind the words, and bringing those lines to life through scene work and monologue performances. By the final class, students will have honed their skills and performed key scenes and monologues, gaining both a deeper understanding of Shakespeare and a confidence in performing his timeless works.
